At the beginning of 2012 Welborn Media joined the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce. So far we’ve attended numerous events, given a handful of helpful presentations, met so many hardworking business leaders, and Zeb has become an Ambassador for the Chamber. Recently we were brought on to redesign the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce website.

About the Chamber:

“The Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce continues to be the largest and most comprehensive business organization in the Chino Valley speaking on behalf of its member firms. Members include a mix of companies of all sizes and industries, from entrepreneurial start-up companies to large long-established business entities. The Chino Valley is indeed “Open” to business and the Chamber works to make this community a premiere place to do business.”

We were excited to get the opportunity to create a website that would be able to benefit so many people in our own community, whether it be business owners who would like an online presence, or residents looking to find out more about businesses and events in the community.

The old Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce website was difficult to update and difficult to navigate. We wanted to make sure we gave our chamber something much more useful, for chamber members and visitors to the website alike. We decided to use WordPress as a content management system in tandem with ChamberMaster, a powerful easy-to-use member management software created specifically for chambers of commerce. By keeping the design clean and modern we were able to create a site that is easy to navigate while still representing the Chino Valley. Here are some screenshots of our chamber of commerce website design:

We wanted to keep the vibe and feel that RB Components had already established for their Production Rentals Department on their print materials. We wanted to use large images and include galleries to really show every detail of their wonderful production trailers. Featuring the Honeywagon, the PMO, and soon, their new Wardrobe Trailers was the goal of this site.

The production trailers that RB Production Rentals manufactures include the Honeywagon and the PMO. The Honeywagon is a 53 foot long trailer with 7 talent rooms, two crew restrooms and an associate directors room.  The modern styling and high end fiberglass/aluminum steel construction make it stellar vehicle to have on set. The PMO is a 4 stall VIP restroom. Its efficient design includes more stalls, necessary for a busy production crew.  Coming soon is their Wardrobe Trailer, which is sure to be well thought out and designed and have the same high end construction.

RB Production Rentals is already at work on some of the hottest sets across the country including Califonication on Showtime, Scandal on ABC, House of Lies on Showtime, New Girl on Fox, and Justified on FX.

Welborn Media created a brand new website for Our Saviour’s Children’s Center located in Orange, CA.

We wanted to create a playful website that showcased the fun and caring environment at Our Saviour’s Children’s Center. The wonderful childcare provided here to kids in Orange, Garden Grove, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Tustin and other Orange County Cities is enriching lives. Encouraging all the children to grow spiritually, cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically from infants only 6 weeks old through kids in pre-kindergarten.

Some of the highlights of the day care program are field trips, a Christmas program, weekly Spanish classes for 3s and 4s, Grandparents’/Loved Ones’ Day, Winter Fun Day, Thanksgiving Feast, Parents’ Night Out, Daddy & Me, and Mommy & Me. They even have Webby Dance and gymnastics as well as Soccer Shots available at this child care center.

The goal of the center and their curriculum is to eliminate stereotyping and discriminatory behavior based on gender, physical attributes, socio-economic position, race or ethnicity. Cooperation, understanding and compassion are modeled by staff and encouraged in the children.

At Welborn Media we are proud to have worked on this site for such a wonderful local business with a caring licensed staff. Please check out the website, take a look at the childcare events and the photos that show the playground, the large outdoor areas, swing set, track path, colorful kids play room, and the babies room.

Website Design | Exploring Your Options

The owner of Welborn Social Media and the founder of The Tutoring Solution. My goal is to help business owners share the passion they have for their business with as many potential customers as possible.By helping passionate people achieve their dreams I am helping to create a society of passionate leaders that will help inspire others to make their dreams a reality.

We come across people on a daily basis who are looking to build a website to promote their business or product online. Exploring your options is an important function of any business and one a business owner should take seriously when choosing a company to design their website.  There are many things that people don’t know or understand about website design and it’s our intention to help educate you on what it takes to build a functional website for your business.

Many companies have sprouted up recently, offering free websites to people who are interested in using a do-it-yourself approach to website design.  This option is great for small business owners who don’t have money to invest in designing a website; however, these websites come with many limitations.  The largest of these limitations is that the websites are made using templates. Often you cannot get colors, spacing, and content to look the way you want. This can cause frustration and disappointment. Many business owners who take this approach spend a good deal of time setting up their website and end up unhappy with the results. If you fall into this category, all is not lost. In many cases you can hire a designer to make a few adjustments that will enhance your site for minimal cost.

If you’re looking for a top-notch website that will look and act exactly as you want it to, you’ll need to hire a website designer.  Be sure to check references from any website designer you hire.  We’ve heard so many horror stories from business owners who paid someone to do their website and then they disappeared.  I can honestly say that a good deal of the people who hire us have shared a bad experience they’ve had with another website designer. Ask for some examples of their work; check to see if you like the websites they’ve done. Ask if the final product is optimized for search engines. Consider hiring a photographer. Having beautiful photos on your website can set you apart from the crowd. Plus, having high quality photos available to a website designer can provide lots of inspiration.

With Welborn Media you’ll get a completely customized website.  Every single person who has had a website designed by us has told us that the website was better than they could have ever imagined.  Our website designer, Lacey, is extremely talented when it comes to taking an individual’s/company’s website and turning it into something that’s better than our customers had envisioned.

We are members of the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce and helping to make businesses successful online is our passion.  Our business will be here for a long time to come and we aren’t going anywhere.  If you’d like to see what other people have said about Welborn Media please check out our Social Media and Website Design Recommendations.

Action Jackson Fitness | Website Design

The owner of Welborn Social Media and the founder of The Tutoring Solution. My goal is to help business owners share the passion they have for their business with as many potential customers as possible.By helping passionate people achieve their dreams I am helping to create a society of passionate leaders that will help inspire others to make their dreams a reality.

Jackson Bloore’s love of working out began during his baseball days in high school and college.  He wanted to increase his performance on the field so he began to work out regularly.  He was not as talented as many other players on his teams, but he spent lots of time in the weight room to stay competitive.  Jackson fell in love with working out and it has become his passion.  Every day Jackson is able to push the physical and mental limits of his body. For Jackson, who lives in Chicago, IL, working out is a stress reliever.  It helps to build “mental toughness, confidence, and is mentally and physically invigorating.”

Action Jackson Fitness –  Jackson started Action Jackson Fitness because he saw so many friends and family “struggle while working with personal trainers that yielded lackluster results because of inadequate knowledge, attention to detail, or sheer lack of interest.”   Jackson began informally training people simply because he enjoyed helping people to transform their appearance and their lives.  After helping enough people, he began to enjoy fitness training more than his day job and so he decided to make it his career.

Action Jackson Modeling – Early on in his workouts, Jackson would get approached by many people asking him questions about his routine, what he’d eat, and what exercieses he was doing. At the same time he’d always get asked if he was a fitness model.  After getting so many comments, Jackson decided to send some pictures to an agency in New York City. They invited him to come to New York where he immediately secured a shoot with Men’s Health magazine.

Jackson is keeping an up to date blog and is eager to help those in need of a personal trainer.  His results speak for themself and we’d highly recommend the services that Action Jackson provides.

We loved working with Jackson to complete the website for Action Jackson Fitness.  If you’d like to learn how we can build a website for you or your business, please contact Zeb Welborn at (909) 973 – 9089 or by email, Zeb@WelbornSocialMedia.com.

Save Lives . . . Complete Cambodia

Complete Cambodia | Building a Future, Free of the Past

We recently began working with Steve Pennington from Complete Cambodia.  We’ve never met a more passionate individual . . . a man who is trying to make a difference.  During the Vietnam War massive amounts of bombs were dropped in Cambodia. They are still going off today, killing innocent Cambodians more than 30 years after the Vietnam War.  Complete Cambodia’s mission is to remove those mines from Cambodia by building awareness for this cause.

To build awareness, Steve has asked us to build a website designed to accept donations and by holding fundraising events. He already has plans for a benefit concert at a later date.  Steve is also headed to Cambodia on September 18 to assist in removing land mines.  Here is what Steve had to say about his mission for Complete Cambodia:

I have been inspired to take action in raising the awareness level, as well as fundraising for what is occurring in Cambodia as a result of America’s actions during the Vietnam war. From the years of 1964 through 1973 over 2 million tons of ordnance were dropped by United States bombers over Cambodia.

Presently, men, woman and children are being injured and killed by land mines and unexploded bombs. At a rate of almost 1 per day.

Cambodia is by far the most bombed area on the planet to date, and because of that their economy is handcuffed. Land can’t be developed for building roads and schools, as well as farmed. It’s crippling a society. The children seem to be the most affected as they tend to think the land mines are toys, and when they pick them up, they obviously explode.

If the organizations that are there don’t continue to get funding and a dialog in this country is not created, casualties of the Vietnam war will continue to occur. The people of Cambodia will never have the ability to thrive as a society and will constantly be living in the face of fear.

By creating awareness and doing the fundraising, the people of this amazing country will finally be able to take ownership of their land. They will be able to walk anywhere without the fear of being injured from a land mine or bomb. They will have the ability to build and farm on land that they have not been able to because it WILL be safe to do so. Most of all, as a society, they will start to get complete with something that we as being on the outside, consider history.

My intentions are to host a benefit concert to not only fundraise, but to generate more recognition towards this cause. Any help is greatly appreciated on raising the awareness of the Complete Cambodia project.

Thank you,

Steve Pennington

We are thrilled to work with such a passionate individual and encourage all of you to become engaged in his cause.  Visit his website at www.completecambodia.com and tell us what you think.

How We Can Create Fun, Exciting and Customized Websites for Any Business

Lacey and her brother Zeb Welborn founded Welborn Media. She has designed and launched websites, several projects, marketing materials, a podcast, a book and more. Her passions include her family, her friends, creating things and helping businesses grow.

I recently got the opportunity to design the landing page for a magazine website. While working out the details of the assignment my client told me, “I just want to see what you put together without a ton of input from me. I want you to go ahead and design what you think would work best and we can go from there.”

This is a good news/bad news situation. The good news is I have complete freedom. The bad news is that without the back and forth and asking, do you want this or that? it’s hard to figure out what the client really wants.

We already run the Twitter account for this business. She was very happy with the Twitter background I created for their Twitter profile page and she wanted to see what I could do for her new website.

After doing some research I had some good ideas for this webpage but was having difficulty fitting ideas together. Then my client sent me a message, sort of an outline of their plans for this new website. It had a list of the different sections they wanted on their website, the type of content they wanted on their page, but nothing about what they wanted for a design.  However, at the end of the document there was a section titled Brand Personality with a list: Friendly, Fun Creative, Inspiring, Imaginative, Informational, Educational, Savvy, Good Clean Fun, Social.

I wrote this list down. After reading the words a couple of times I knew how I was going to design the site. I knew how it would look. I knew this because I now knew how the site should feel.

After spending a few days developing the design I submitted a first draft mock-up to my client. They had some minor changes for me, but overall they loved it. They really liked the overall layout I set up. They loved how I integrated social media. They loved the feel the design achieved, saying that it was friendly and warm and still clean and organized.

I got to talk to another employee, whom I’ll be working with to get the site live, and he shared with me the joy my client had for the design I put together.

Apparently, they formerly had a full-time graphic artist who’s esthetic didn’t match my client’s esthetic. It was hard for them to reach design solutions that made the client happy. After getting it right on the first attempt my client has a lot of faith in me and has hired me on to help get the site live.

It can be hard to tell what a client wants. By paying attention and putting myself in their shoes, I was able to get some good ideas. Then, with the help of a few simple words, I knew how I was going to put it all together. It’s a design that I’m proud of and that my client is stoked about.

Now it’s a mad dash to get the site up and running to stay on the schedule. It’s going to be a busy week!  Stay tuned for the finished product when the site goes live.
